Why there is no “games playable” number

Only AnyPS5 publishes a verified compatibility list. The others describe compatibility in their READMEs or screenshots, using different standards (booting, in-game, playable). Putting them in one number would be misleading, so we quote each project instead.

Relinker vs emulator

AnyPS5 is the only project here that converts the game into a native Windows/Linux program. The rest are emulators. Deep dive: AnyPS5 vs KytyPS5.

Beware of fake “PS5 emulator” downloads

Every project above is distributed on GitHub. Sites selling or bundling a “PS5 emulator” with games or BIOS files are not these projects. See how to spot fake downloads.

PS5 emulator FAQ

Is there a working PS5 emulator for PC?

Several experimental projects exist (KytyPS5, SharpEmu, RPCSX), and AnyPS5 takes a non-emulation approach. None of them claims broad compatibility with commercial PS5 games yet.

Does shadPS4 run PS5 games?

shadPS4 is a PlayStation 4 emulator. Its README does not mention PS5 support.

What are the alternatives to AnyPS5?

KytyPS5, SharpEmu and RPCSX are emulators that target PS5 software. They emulate the console environment instead of converting the game into a native program.
